Summer in Amsterdam was such a blast! We attended few summer special events organized by our friends from A City Made by People and had a chance to meet some of Amsterdam's sustainable entrepreneurs. Vincent Huijing from Buro Regen&Water gave us a tour of the experimental rain garden in Amsterdam West. Vincent showed how to design a rain smart garden that is resistant to increasing rainfall and protects our homes against flooding, Arno van Herwijnen, Co-Owner of Rainbeer shared the story behind the beer made out of rain water. We tried it and we liked it! Wai-Han Wong of JUT Plastic, talked about her mission to solve the plastic waste. She creates jewelries out of plastic collected from the Dutch beaches. She believes that everything that is found on the beach can be given a new value or destination. From Janneke Verweij of CoCasa we learned about about worms, the composting process and how the CoCasa worm hotel aims to make Amsterdam more sustainable.
